THIS CAMERA IS A REAL COLLECTOR'S ITEM, BUT COULD PROBABLY BE USED BY
THE ENTHUSIAST.
I am offering a No 4 Cartridge Kodak Model E with Rapid Rectilinear
Bausch & Lomb Lens. The Pneumatic Shutter (patented 1897) - the rubber
bulb and tube has disappeared - has Bulb, Time and Instant speeds with
apertures ranging from f4 to f128. It has a wooden body covered in
Black Leather. The double extension red leather bellows (in really
excellent condition) and well preserved chrome/nickel fittings slide
forward on polished wooden platform. There is a rise and fall and
lateral movement facility with the lens with a racked focusing
movement allied to a marked distance scale. Inside there is an
original 5†x 4†exposed roll film and the empty reel. It is made
to take plate film as well.
The shutter works as expected and the apertures work smootly and
consistently.
The Patent dates on the inside back are May 5th 1885, September 25th
1894, January 5th 1897 and June 21st 1898.
