Flos Arco Style Floor Lamp
There are some items that last the test of time and can truelly be
called a design classic.. This is one such item.
Based on the design by Giacomo Castaglioni, the secret of the lamp is
in the weight in the marble base...counterbalancing the large dome
vented chromium shade..
The Arc lamp that you are bidding on is adjustable to a height of
2.05m (80 ins) and to a width of 2.05m (80ins).
The arc and support pole are finished in lacquered brushed steel
ending at one end in the 30cm dia vented shade and the other fits into
the white onyx marble base measuring 54cm x 24cm x 19cm and weighing
an amazing 69KG..(thats the weight of almost 3 bags of cement!!)
The shade internal is a matte white finish allowing the use of a 40w
es bulb fitting. The lamp also has the benefit of a foot sliding
dimmer switch to allow the lamp to go from full brightness down to
minimal light at the slide of the switch.
The lamp is shown in its fully extended form.. The lampshade can raise
higher from the ground to approx 6ft from the floor.
There are a couple of points we must point out:
- This is a VERY large lamp and is only suitable for big and high
rooms.. please measure the compatibility before bidding.
- This is a VERY heavy lamp by design and will come delivered on a
pallet and ready for construction. The delivery charge reflects this.

design.

For auction today we have a 1950's / 1960's SOLID GLASS CEILING LAMP.
I don't know how you would call it, maybe Retro or Kitsch...
All I know is it is constructed of solid glass with a round black
metal base and ceramic bayonet bulb holder. They don't make them like
this any more. Nowadays they are plastic.. but this is solid...
The dimensions are :- diameter across 24 cm or 9 and a half inches and
depth of the glass is 8 cm or 3 and a quarter inches and the base is 3
cm or 1 and a quarter inches.
The glass pattern is like that of the top of an egg carton, sorry,
that is the best way I can describe it, great effect with the bulb in
and located in the bathroom. Although you can place it anywhere that
pleases you...
