OLD TRADITIONAL NORWAY STERLING SOLJE BROOCH

This is a very beautiful vintage brooch. It is a traditional Norwegian
piece. Brooches like this are worn on the "Bunad", the National
costume and are called "Solje" (it's pronounced Sool -ya). This
particular pin is made from Sterling and Gold Vermeil. There are 6
hanging spangles with concave disks. It measures just over 1 ½ " long
(to bottom of lowest spangle), and 1" wide. It is marked on the back,
830 S (the old European Sterling Standard), and O.X.O. It has a plain
bar closure with a curved C clasp. It is in Super Condition !!!!!!
These are usually passed down from Mother to Daughter.

The Item
This is a beautiful Victorian Scottish Silver Brooch, set with
crescents of green & red Moss Agate & a centre mounted facet cut
Cairngorm gemstone, hallmarked with makers mark (IAM) c.1880.
This is a lovely piece of antique Scottish Silver jewellery, the
Silver mount is beautifully hand engraved with 6 individual
segmented crescents of Agate in green & red. The centre mounted
Cairngorm is a deep honey amber colour with no flaws & is
beautifully cut & elevated.Â
Condition
Excellent! No missing or replaced stones, mount in nice condition with
soft dark patina (uncleaned), backpin intact with "C" clasp.
Measurements
 Mount - 3.5cm
Cairngorm - 15mm diameter & 9mm deep.
