MINITRIX(N) BR85 DB Heaviest Steam Loco *MIB**LOOK*
Last Price: GBP83.00 Ending Date and Time (GMT): 2004-10-31 12:22:24 An extremely well maintained and rare heavy steam locomotive BR85
(former 1'E 1', built in 1932 for the DR) of the DB by Minitrix
Ep.III, in its original and undamaged box. This engine was renowned
to be the heaviest ever German Standard Steam Loco and has power to
all its main wheels.
Detailed Heusinger Valve gear and brake shoe detail between main
wheels, Witte wind deflectors. Working driving lights. The original
was first built in 1932 to master the steep gradients of the
Höllental route. Surviving examples of this Locomotive were taken
over by the then newly formed Deutsche Bundesbahn after WWII.
Tests confirm smooth running at all speeds in both directions, two
traction tyres. See pictures for details.
