THE BEAUTIFUL AND MAGICAL BLACK STAR OF INDIA

Black star diopside is generally a blackish or blackish green
color;rarely a definite green. It is, of course, cut into round or
oval cabochons which are generally biconvex with a roughly shaped,
unpolished base. The star characteristically has a fore rays, two of
which are straight, while the other two, not at right angles to the
first pair, look slightly wavy (the crystal does not, in fact, have
fourfold symmetry). Sometimes, oriented acicular (need like) surface
crystalline inclusions are clearly visible, especially from below.
DISTINCTIVE FEATURES: Star diopside has only binary symmetry, and the
star has four rays, rather than six like other star stones. When the
gem contains conspicuous need like crystals (of magnetite) it is
easily attracted by a magnet.

All silver in this shop is hallmarked (stamped) 925. This means that
it is 92.5% pure silver which is referred to as "Sterling Silver".
This is the best possible quality for jewellery as 100% pure silver is
very soft and would quickly become scratched and bent. Please note
that screen technology does not allow for exact reproduction of
exterior colours.

Now for the boring but important bit, PLEASE READ!!! I prefer to send
my items recorded delivery to protect me and my buyers, however I am
aware that this is not suitable for everyone as it can be a pain if
you are not going to be in. So I no longer include this is the price
but instead just get proof of posting. If you would like me to send
the items recorded delivery to be on the safe side then I will do, at
the additional cost of 65p.
Depending on the value of the item I may insist upon recorded delivery
but mostly I will leave the choice to the buyer. Please indicate at
checkout if you would like recorded delivery. I cannot be held
responsible for items that get lost, but I will do all I can to help
if it does happen and you have paid for postal insurance.
The postage price includes 1st class postage cost, packaging and
handling. If you win more than one item I will try to combine costs
where possible.
Please be aware if sending a cheque I can only bank them once or twice
a week so expect up to 10 day wait, I will only post once cleared. If
paying by pay-pal then expect a couple of days wait from when payment
