MURDER MYSTERY ROLE PLAY GAME VENICE ORIGINAL BARRISTER
Last Price: GBP10.51 Ending Date and Time (GMT): 2004-10-31 20:14:32 The Scene.
It is Shrove Tuesday, 1605; the zenith of the spectacular Venetian
Carnevale. The Great and Good (and Not So Good) of the City are
gathering for the final Grand Masked Ball to be held at the Palazzo
Ducale (Dogeâs Palace). Everyone who is anyone will be there, and as
well as a phenomenal party, it is also a good opportunity for a little
wheeling and dealingâ¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦..
This is a most unusual opportunity! If you are looking for a murder
mystery party for up to twenty players, then this is the one for you.
My wife is a Criminal Barrister at the English Bar, of eleven years'
standing, and when she couldn't find the murder mystery that she
wanted for a party of our own last year - she wrote her own! It went
so well, and we had such a good time, that it seems only right and
proper to disseminate the good times a little more widely!
It is based around the Venetian Carnival, in the seventeenth century,
set in the Ducal Palazzo, on the Rialto. Everyone is there, from the
Aristocracy to the lowly Gondoliers; you will meet:
Maximus Risotto - the Doge of Venice; holding on by the skin of his
teeth;
Mingus Risotto - the Doge's scheming younger brother;
Signora Lucilla Lastica - the most glamorous lady in all Venice, and
only she knows it;
Signor Stivali di Gomma - the powerful member of the Aristocracy and
the Great Council;
Professor Mindshaft Deepen - The most eminent historian in the world,
lecturing at the Scuole Grande di
Andepande.............................
and many, many more.
The game is intended to be played before, during and after a formal
dinner, with the guests allowed much freedom to move around, interact
with each other, and indulge in their various intrigues. What you are
bidding for is fifty-seven pages, comprising:
(a) Full instructions on how to play
(b) The Storyline
(c) The Scene Setting Page
(d) The Official Guest List
(e) Individual character sheets for each player, including character
description; background; aims and motives and full instructions
(f) Invitations for you to copy and send to your guests
(g) Money sheets for you to copy
(h) Everything else necessary to make your party a success.
There is no script, but each character is given enough information
about who they are and what they want to make it up for themselves -
the more creative, the better! Some characters are more involved than
others, so that you can fit it around the guests that you have, and
their personalities. There are character sheets for a maximum of
twenty players. You can play the game quite successfully with a
minimum of nine. The characters are flexible; you can add as many more
as you need, up to the maximum, and male roles can be swapped for
female, in some cases, and vice versa, in order to suit the party that
you have. We got our guests to dress up, and, in particular, wear
colourful masks, which was brilliant! I can email photos to anyone
interested!
I suggest that the winner of this auction has the game emailed, at no
extra cost. Printing it all out is something of a waste of time, as
you are highly likely to want to amend some of the characters or
details to suit your own party - the Invitation, for example. For the
additional cost of £1.00 on top of the winning bid, it can be
provided on floppy disk. I am prepared to email a single character
sheet, and the scene setting page to all enquirers, free of charge, if
that will help you decide if this game is for you.
This is the party of your life! Don't miss it - you won't find this
in the shops! Happy bidding!
All questions answered promptly.
