Vanity Fair Print: Sir John Karslake 1873
Last Price: GBP4.99 Ending Date and Time (GMT): 2004-10-31 19:00:00 Original Vanity Fair Print of Sir John Burgess Karslake which, though
unsigned, is by "Lyall" dated 22nd February 1873 and captioned "Jack".
Educated at Harrow he was called to the Bar in 1846. He was knighted
in 1866 and also became Attorney General. He entered politics and held
office under Disraeli. A very finished speaker he enjoyed a large and
lucrative practise at the Bar. He died unmarried in 1881. This print
is "Men of the Day No. 56" in the long running print series. The print
is in excellent original condition with all colours clear and bright
and the image is crisp. [IMAGE]
