Insert leads are mostly used with mixers and other audio equipment allowing you to, for example, patch an effects or processing unit into a channel on the mixing desk. Many mixing desk manufactures provide an Input and Output together all in one connector and label it an "Insert". These inert sockets are often termed TRS (Tip Ring Sleeve) which is just another term used to describe a stereo jack. Using an insert lead is a matter of plugging the stereo end of the lead into the desk which leaves you two Mono plugs which now serve as a separate input and output allowing you to patch your effects etc. Colour codes on these leads vary but we provide the information with the lead for which colour plug connects to the Tip and Ring.
