Sunday Times Magazine May 1972. Must be among the earliest publicity
Malcolm McLaren ('an original ted' it says here) and Vivienne Westwood
(though she doesn't get a mention) received for their Kings Road shop.
Has a 4-page glossy spread on the teddy boy revival, and Let it Rock
in particular.
Screaming Lord Sutch features prominently, dressed from head to toe in
Let It Rock gear ('Lurex shirt, £3.95'), in action with the
Houseshakers at the Fishmongers Arms, Wood Green. Approximately 400
words from Valerie Wade on teddy boys, Let It Rock, its stock and
interior, quotes from Malcolm, and 6 photos of suede shoes, shaggy
mohair sweater-dresses, 12-in bottomed jean drains, winklepicker boots
etc with 1972 prices.
Not a great deal of interesting stuff elsewhere in the mag - fatty
fascist Benito Mussolini on the cover, Bertrand Russell, and lots of
great adverts for crappy 70's cars and fashions.
In excellent condition - has been very well looked-after. Postage at
cost. Non-UK bidders must pay via Paypal.
