Huge Hand Crafted Cushion - Cath Kidston / Shabby Chic

This 18" cushion has been designed and hand crafted by myself using a
selection of co-ordinating American checked gingham, striped and
spotted fabrics, button embellishments and high quality threads on
natural ivory calico. This item is fully washable (up to 40 degrees)
or can be dry cleaned if preferred.
This super piece would look great in a country cottage or town
dwelling alike. I've photographed this one on a rustic country chair
beside the Aga in a farmhouse kitchen, and it looks great!
Alternatively, this would make a unique Christmas present for that
special friend or relative who is a home lover. So whether you are a
fan of Shaker style, Cath Kidston, Shabby Chic, Folk Art or Laura
Ashley, this should slot into your interior decorating scheme with
ease.
"Bless this house" has been handstitched on top of subtle green
spotted fabric pieces. The house is constructed from two tones of the
same green fabric, with a striped door and calico heart surrounded by
running stitches in pinky red thread and a matching tiny button in the
centre. Smoky grey coloured running stitches simulate smoke rising
from the chimney. There is a pinky red checked gingham heart, again
surrounded by running stitches and a large cream button in the centre,
which sits to the left of the roof. There are various flowers and
leaves appliqued with corresponding fabrics and each has a tiny
American button in the centre, all different colours, carefully chosen
to blend in well. The remaining flowers are handstitched using french
knots and running stitches to simulate the stems and grass. There are
a further two appliqued hearts at the base, using the striped fabric
to match the front door. The border is in a pinky red and cream large
check from the same range. The back has been made in plain ivory
fabric and has a generous envelope opening. This one's a real cutie
girls!
To view the full detail may I suggest you have a good look at the
pictures. Unfortunately I had to use a conventional camera and these
do not do this item any justice, so I have added some scanned images
(any dark shadows are due to the fact the buttons prevent it from
lying flat - the main picture in the cane chair is the most accurate
representation of colour). My apologies for the poor quality pictures
- how I long to get my digital camera back!
The 20" feather pad is not included but can be purchased for an extra
£6.00 (UK buyers please add an extra £1.70 for postal costs). If
purchasing from outwith the UK, I would prefer to post the cushion
cover only to help keep the postal costs down for you. However, if you
require the insert, please contact me for the extra postal charge.
