Eagle comic Dare Amphibious Jeep Vol 6 No.49 1955
Last Price: GBP1.99 Ending Date and Time (GMT): 2004-10-31 20:30:43 Eagle comic/Dan Dare/ Amphibious Jeep Volume 6 No.49 1955
This auction is for a christmas issue of eagle comic dated 9thDecember
1955 volume 6 No.49
(Hulton press Ltd England 1955)
This comic is in good condition, as you can see from the photograph it
has never been folded and is fantastic for a comic which is nearly 50
years old. However there is a tear on the bottom edge of the spine of
about 4 inches, a pencil delivery name on the back and a few tiny
pieces of cellotape on several pages. None of the competitions or
quizzes have been filled in. However please ensure you email me with
any questions you may have and I will give you as much detail as you
require in order to bid confidently.
This Issue includes
Stories of Dan Dare in âRogue planetâ
P.C.49 in âThe case of the new memberâ, Jeff Arnold in âTerror
of the Pecosâ and Luck of the legion âin south of sengalâ. The
back page features The life story of Abraham Lincoln âLincoln of
America
The top half of the centre spread page has a âcutawayâ one of the
regular features of Eagle. This fantastic illustration is titled
âHalf Safeâ which shows an amphibious jeep in which Ben Carlin an
Austrailian crossed the atlantic. It was the smallest powered craft to
have ever made the crossing, as always there is a key to the numbered
parts.
Other features in the comic include:
An article on soldiers of the queen.
The insect world by George Cansdale looks at the great water beetle
I am not a comic collector/Dealer but I have been given the task of
selling off over 350 copies of eagle comics and associated Dan dare
memorabilia which used to belong to my late uncle, who cherished them
for many years. I anticipate it could take up to 6 months to sell this
collection, so please add me to your favourites and check my items
often, as I have some rare and interesting pieces to auction.
