This is a beautiful vintage Deco comet inspired paste set pin. The pin
has facet-cut, paste set diamante stones, set into the comet tail,
with a beautiful geometric design nucleus, again encrusted with
diamantes.
All stones are foiled backed, and collet set onto a shining rhodium
plated silver-tone metal mount. It has a roll-over safety clasp pin
fitting.
In 1910 Halley's comet appeared in the night sky and created a taste
for comet-inspired jewelry. This delightful sparkling comet Deco
brooch is a particularly fine example of the "comet craze". Similar
comet-inspired jewels were also created during the 1830's when
Halley's fiery ball had last appeared. This elegant brooch dates from
the late Edwardian - early Art Deco period, 1910 to 1920.
Considering it is at least 80yrs old it is in quite remarkable
condition, and one of the best we have seen, and a very beautiful and
sparkling pin. Making this a fantastic piece of jewelry for the comet
jewelry collector. No reserve. (Ref KD1214)

A gorgeous 1930,s style Art Deco Diamante pendant ,it drops and swings
