LOVELY ART DECO ENAMEL AND CHROME COMPACT-20'S- 30'S

You are bidding on a most stunning and rare Art Nouveau/Art Deco enamel and chrome (?)compact, dating from the 1920's to 1930's. This compact is small and elegant and measures nearly 2 1/2" by 1 1/2". The compact is in a gorgeous shade of mint or sea foam green and a burnt sienna, brownish enamel with silver or chrome raised spots and an outlined leaf like design in the middle, also outlined in the chome. The brown enamel with the silver spots is in the top left and bottom right corners. The green leaf design fills the centre and extends to the top right and bottom left corners. The design is very indicative of the Nouveau or Deco era. It is definitely an early compact. The back is a solid mint green enamel. Upon opening the compact, the mirror in the lid is in excellent condition. There is a closed compartment that is empty and above that is a bright red rouge. The inside is done in the silver tone or chrome. The clasp works fine. I do not see any makers marks. This compact is wonderful. There are a couple of teeny tiny nicks to the enamel on the front, but because of the design and the raised spots, they are barely noticeable and do not detract from the beauty and uniqueness of this piece. There are also some tiny nicks to the back. Again, they do not detract. Other than some slight surface scratching that is commonplace on a compact of this age and the other points I stated, this is a beauty. I try and point out everything I see and the damage is far less significant than it sounds. It is a fabulous and elegant compact! Simply special! For the compact or Deco collector, this is a must to add to your collection. Perfect for that someone special on your gift giving list for the upcoming holidays! Don't pass this one by! You are bidding on a wonderful and rare, vintage Deco ladies enamel compact. I am not completely sure of the age of this compact, but I believe it dates to about the 30's The compact measures 3" by 3" and is done in royal blue and off white enamel, trimmed in a silver colour, perhaps chrome. The design on the front is very vibrant and vivid, with an abstract design, very indicative of the Deco era. The back is in off white enamel. There is a screen and puff inside and some powder. The mirror is also intact. The inside of the compact is in gold. The compact is in very good condition. The enamel is in very good condition. There is a mark on the blue, almost like a water mark. It is not chipped and not noticeable. There is a tiny chip in the enamel near the clasp and slight surface scratching, but nothing at all that detracts from the beauty of this compact. The mirror is intact and clear. The clasp works well. It is a wonderful compact and is in very good condition. For the compact collector, this is a must to add to your collection. It is so wonderful and unusual. Don't pass this one by. Treat yourself or that someone special over the holidays. What a great gift for someone you care about!
