RARE DAVIDSON TUTANKHAMUN GLASS BOWL 1923 DECO
Last Price: GBP79.99 Ending Date and Time (GMT): 2004-10-31 21:11:02 Antiques, Collectables, Paintings, Fine Ceramics and Glass
Rare Davidson GlassTutankhamun square bulb bowl
The fascinating Tutankhamun square bulb bowl was made at Davidsons
glass works in Gateshead in the north east of England. It was made in
jade and black only in 1923 and is a rare and highly collectable
example of Davidsonâs glass.
It was a Davidson mould made by James Bowran from two drawings given
to him by the designer and co director E Francis, depicting, a snake
charmer and lions and numerous hieroglyphics including a leg, an eye
and other symbols. This mould was made at the time of the original
discovery of the Tutankhamun treasures when items of this theme were
highly fashionable.
This classic Tutankhamun bulb bowl is discussed in a book on pressed
glass of the North East of England called "The Peacock & The Lions".
Measuring approx. 6" square and 8cm. high it has some minor watermarks
to the interior and a few honourible nibbles otherwise in great
condition, a fine collectors piece.
U.K. postage £6.55 special delivery.

BLUE GLASS/ CHROME ART DECO BOWL
Last Price: GBP25.00 Ending Date and Time (GMT): 2004-10-30 11:14:28 Beautiful Blue glass fluted bowl on chrome base. This item was my
Grandmothers so I'm dating this from between 1900 and 1930's. The
blue glass is decorated with small raised glass beads (look like
little jelly moulds) to the outside and a lovely star cut glass to
bottom of dish. The top edge is frosted glass and you can see tiny
little bubbles in the body. Excellent condition no chips or cracks.
Stands 5" high by 9" diameter.
