A Marvellous Vintage Corgi Toys Hillman Hunter Marathon Winner Model,
No.302.
This superb vintage Corgi Toys Hillman Hunter was produced by Corgi in
the 1960s and modelled of course on the winner of the first 1968
London to Sydney Marathon, and is a very realistic and highly detailed
model of the famous car. The Hillman Hunter features spring
suspension, all-round windows, detailed interior with steering wheel,
jewelled front and rear headlights as well as front bumper, dual
spotlights to the bonnet and roof, two spare tyres to the roof,
opening toolbox with plated toolkit and special "Golden Jacks"
take-off wheels, allowing the car to be supported by the built-in
jacks to the base and the wheels to be removed for service. The car
marvellously still retains almost all of the original decals still
applied, and is in overall excellent order for its age, retaining
original racing blue paintwork along with all original wheels, tyres
and axles. The Hillman Hunter looks superb on display as can be seen,
a fine model of the famous London to Sydney, Australia Marathon
Winner, and measures 4.25 inches long, being clearly marked Corgi Toys
Hillman Hunter Mark II along with Rootes, Made in GT. Britain and a
Patent Application number on the base.
