This eagle comic dated 18th november 1955 volume 6 No.46
(Hulton press Ltd England 1955)
This comic is in good condition, the spine is worn but as you can see
from the photograph it has never been folded and is fantastic for a
comic which is nearly 50 years old.
There is a pencil delivery name on the back which reads “Cattâ€.
None of the competitions or quizzes have been filled in. However
please ensure you email me with any questions you may have and I will
give you as much detail as you require in order to bid confidently.
This Issue includes
The story of Dan Dare in “The Man from nowhereâ€
P.C.49 in “The case of the new memberâ€, Jeff Arnold in “Terror
of the Pecos†and Luck of the legion “in south of sengalâ€. The
back page features The life story of Abraham Lincoln “Lincoln of
America
The top half of the centre spread page has a “cutaway†one of the
regular features of Eagle. This fantastic illustration is titled
“Heralding the new herald†It shows the new Handley page herald,
an aircraft of medium range and general purpose, as always there is a
key to the numbered parts.
Other features in the comic include:
A pull-out Christmas shopping supplement showing all the latest
gadgets and sweet adverts including Hohner mouth organ, Fry’s tuck
shop, Halford’s and Bassett’s liquorice alsorts.
On page 5 there is an advert for hornby clockwork trains.
I am not a comic collector/Dealer but I have been given the task of
selling off over 350 copies of eagle comics and associated Dan dare
memorabilia which used to belong to my late uncle, who cherished them
for many years. I anticipate it could take up to 6 months to sell this
collection, so please add me to your favourites and check my items
often, as I have some rare and interesting pieces to auction.
