This is a brand new Western Digital Raptor SATA hard drive. The reason
for auction is that my PC case is a mini Shuttle type and I am fearful
that planting this drive next to a 250Gb Maxtor might generate too
much heat - and I have absolutely no space to add a cooler, so
reluctantly all I can do is err on the side of caution and play safe.
This drive recently cost just over £100 inc VAT and is fully covered
by Western Digitals Five year guarantee scheme.
Simply the best in hard drives (other than the true 15,000rpm SCSI
drives) the Raptor will give you reduced read, write and seek times as
well as faster booting. This is regarded as the best hard drive that
you can presently fit in modern computers - but please note your
motherboard must have a SATA connector!

Neither Windows XP or my BIOS had any difficulty recognising this
drive. I did not have to resort to loading special drivers as some
reports on the internet suggest.

Postage reflects the weight of this item, Raptors are better built
than standard drives and and therefore significantly heavier!
