I really couldn't believe it when my jewellery supplier produced this
fabulous art nouveau pendant, it was so obviously a "London quality"
item, and here we are, lost on the Yorkshire Coast!
She then explained to me that the manufacturer from whom she buys
had purchased the original in the London auction rooms for £4,500
and was producing these superb facsimiles and that unfortunately
it wasn't the original article.

However, while it may not be original it has been manufactured with
the same care. The pendant measures over 3.5 inches in length:
the picture of the Lady in the Lake (possibly the romantic figure
of Ophelia from Shakespeare's play "Hamlet") is fire enamelled
on copper, the frame with its openwork backing is .925 grade silver
and has the hand-crafted appearance of the original.
The three green stones hanging at the base are peridots.
The snake chain is also .925 hall-marked silver.
To be honest, I think it deserves a more substantial chain.

If you don't like being the centre of attention then don't buy this
as when you wear it everyone who sees it will comment on it.
It really does look a million dollars (well, £4500 anyway).

If it is so good why am I starting my auction at an unreserved 99
pence?
Because my eBay experience is that good stuff "makes its money".
I have seen exactly the same pendant being bid on eBay to £410,
and I know of at least one example which sold on 'Buy it Now' for
£200,
but I like to let you, the bidders, decide what you want to pay.
Postage in the UK will cost £1.
Air shipping outside the UK will cost £1.75.
Insurance will cost another £3. Uninsured items sent at buyer's risk.

We are often emailed by disappointed would-be buyers of our items who
have been outbid in the closing seconds of
the auction, asking to be considered if the winning bidder fails to
complete.
The easy way to avoid losing out to "snipers" is to place your maximum
bid now.
eBay then treats this as a proxy bid and bids on your behalf.
This means that your bid cannot be beaten at the last moment by a
lower amount
than you would have been willing to pay. Your maximum bid is, of
course,
kept secret by eBay and they only bid for you up to the next
increment.
ie you might have left a bid of £1000 but if the next highest bid is
£50 then
your bid will only be £51 and that will win the auction.
If you know how much you are willing to pay then there really is no
point in
entering into a bidding war at the last minute: just let eBay do it
for you!
As with most of the rare, antiquarian or collectable items which I
list on eBay,
rather than place a reserve price I am setting a modest opening bid
price.

A fabulous 18ct gold, Plique-a-Jour enamel, Diamond and Pearl Art Nouveau
pendant in the form of an Angel. The wings are Plique-a-Jour
enamelling and as you can see from the photos the light shines through
and gives the effect of a stained glass window. At the top of the
figure is a white diamond and a pearl hangs from the bottom. The
detail on the face and garment is excellent, a really outstanding
piece of jewellery. Measureing just under 2" including bale and 1.1/4"
wide. All the enamelling is intact and the diamond is clean and white.

Stunning Venetian Millefiori Art Glass Cross Pendant

This beautiful little cross is decorated with millefiori art glass
flowers and is almost certainly Italian. The flowers have stunning
deep maroon and turquoise centres, they look like little baby
paperweights. It measures 1.25" x 7/8" and is complete with an 18"
chain with jump ring working and secure. It is double sided with the
back covered in a lovely dark green enamel. It is in excellent
condition and probably dates from the 60's.
