The silver wirework on this necklace is beautifully crafted in swirling geometric patterns. The earrings also have a round Andean Opal, silver hoops and long silver dangles.. Stones A variety of semi-precious stones are used including Turquoise, Rose Quartz (also known as Pink Andean Opal, Serpentine, Andean Opal, Black Onyx, Mahogany Obsidian (also known as Apache Tear), Agates and others. Metals This silver can tarnish in time just the same as 925 silver will, but it polishes like any other silver with a metal polish back to itâ€™s original shine and beauty. I have personally tried this and found it to be completely true. Some other Peruvian jewellery makers use an alpaca silver that is not pure. This metalwork is made with brass wire and coated in nickel. This is a cheaper form of alpaca and is very shiny when new. Eventually this silver loses the nickel plate and then nothing will shine it back up to itâ€™s original look. Cleaning your jewellery Just clean with regular Brasso or Silvo and a soft toothbrush. NEVER user silver dip on any semi-precious stones as it will destroy them.
