What Video & TV Independent Testimonial Review
Picture Quality:
The KE-42TS2 comfortably betters its predecessor. There are
improvements all over the place but two stand out. Fist there's the
black level; the KE-42TS2E is over 1000:1. Second there's much less
glowing dotty artefacting and noise in general. The improved contast
has led to richer colours - so much so, in fact the KE-42TS2 is one of
the most vibrant plasma screens yet.

Sound Performance:
Sony has eschewed the usual practice of placing plasma speakers on the
sides and stuck them along the bottom, which makes for a fairly
passable pseudo-surround sound from TruSurround. You know it's a
ventriloquist's illusion, but it does a good job.
Connections:
Connectivity is impressivem too. Highlights include three Scarts (two
RGB), prog scan capable component video inputs and the tuner's RF
socket.
Ease of Use
Onscreen menus provide access to a fair set of features. On the
picture side, highlights include nois reduction, a Dynamic Picture
contrast booster, colour/gamma correction - plus a variety of presents
for use with different sources and two personal setting memories.
Verdict:
Overall, the KE-42TS2 is such a step in the right direction that Sony
is surely close to delivering a truly majestic plasma TV
